I am so happy with how it turned out.

We Should Not Tend to the Things of the World

In April I attended a wonderful Relief Society meeting in the North Little Rock Stake. The Memphis, Tennessee Temple President said in his talk that we should not tend to the things of the world. We do not drink coffee, we should not call it a "coffee table". Why not call it a "prayer table"? A place in the home where a family can meet for family prayer. I loved that idea.....so I was on the lookout for a "prayer table" for my family.

I was so excited when I found one at Goodwill for $6!!!! I brought it home and began brainstorming paint colors. I was worried also that the kids would color on it and destroy the paint and I thought of chalkboard paint. Knowing they would love that! And then I thought about using it to write the names of those who have asked for prayers said for them.....It works great and we are more thoughtful about those that need healing and we leave the names there and add to the list as needed.

So, I thought I would share our Family Prayer Table.

So, I made this today from our old slide film and tapes and we will use it for family home evening tonight. The kids may not even be interested in it since it is so old. I sure one of them will ask, "Why aren't the pictures moving??" I know it.

Me at 20 Weeks

Ultra Sound on February 28th ,the day we found that it's a girl!

Well....it has been a long time. I am going to have to change things up around here. It is not going to be life with just Jane and Charlie anymore. Susan Elaine will be born around July 11th. We are so excited. She will be named Susan after my Mother and Elaine is Chip's Mother Bea and his Sister Lisa's middle name. I think her name is lovely.

Susan's Bassinet

We have been preparing...me mostly because I am home and I am so darned excited. Here is one of my projects that I found on tipjunkie.com . I found it and knew I had to make one, but I didn't know yet if we were having a boy or girl. Once we found out...I was off to Hancock Fabric the next day.
I will post the progress photos of mine and if you want directions...you will have to go to Tip Junkie for that hahaha. I love how it turned out....thank goodness because it took A LOT of time to make.

I love how it feels and drapes.

The colors are sweet and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I finished it and threw it in the washer and went to bed at 12:05 this morning.

I woke to use the bathroom and tossed it in the dryer and woke up and pulled it out and smiled at how sweet it is. :)

YAY!!

I will be posting more....excited for the changes and the little sweet spirit that will be joining our family. :)

It has been a rough few weeks of us all being sick with some bug or an other .
I am so sick of being sick.
Charlie is seeming better
after he barfed
on me this morning around 1:00.

He was sick on his 2nd Birthday....
I think I am going to reschedule it to when we are all
well.

Chip's Birthday is tomorrow.....
we have NOTHING planned.
I may reschedule both boy's birthday parties on the same day.
That can work,
one cake for both of them
2 candles for Chars
and
31 for Chip.

There is too much going on in December
for all these
Bah-Hum-Bugs.

All I want for Christmas is for all of us to be well!!!

Diamond Mine

Well, we did some diggin' in the dirt and mud.
No diamonds....not rich.
We are rich in other ways. We had a fun time.

After the diamond diggin'
we went to Hot Springs and enjoyed some Hot Chocolate.
We brought cups,
spoons
and Hot Chocolate packets
(with marshmallows).
And added the the HOT water and stirred.

YUM~O

Then we went to dinner at a friend's home and watched a movie together.
Yesterday was fun.

Well, today we are going Diamond Hunting.
I am so excited.
It will be fun.
Charlie is old enough

I have been up since 5 a.m.
I am ready to hit the road.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.. I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

Charlie had just gotten out of the pool and was out of his wet clothes.
I went to the car to get a diaper and he stood at the door gate.
Meanwhile....
people are driving by in front of the house
after dropping their water bill at city hall.
I get back to the house with the diaper
to find that Charlie had stood at the gate and peed.....
I am sure the people saw this lovely display.

A Sweet Surprise

A while back my Mom called and and said that she had entered a give-away and won and that she wanted to know which saying I wanted.

Wow! She wanted to get this for me so I could put something special in the new place that we have just moved into. I saw the saying

"Christ is the Center of Our home

Every Conversation."

I loved it and knew exactly where to put it.

I have my dining room set up

with The L.A. Temple photo,

Chip's Mission Plaque,

the print of the painting of

Jesus Christ

smiling by Del Parson,

and the Garden of Gethsemane

print and our 4 bookshelves

overflowing with our library of books.....

and lots of other special items.

The dining room is the "center" of our home.

I received the gift very soon after

and I was trilled with it,

I called my Mom as I was opening

the package and was so surprised with all of them.

I had to find the right item to stick it to.

I would have put it on the wall, but we have some painting to do and I wanted to be able to take it with me when the time comes to move and they bulldoze the house. So I found a piece of wood at Hobby Lobby yesterday and got it painted with the help of Jane. Then today after my long glorious nap

(about 6 hours long)

I stuck it on there.

Super easy and beautiful.

It will be a great reminder to me about how I should work to make my home a

Holy Place

and every conversation respectful.

Within the package of goodies there were some other stickers that I am waiting to find the perfect place for. I know some of the CTR stickers will be for Jane's room

(which will also get some paint on the walls).

Sorry that the photos bug you Marnie!
I stopped sending them to Dad, He would get mad at me.
I am glad I am not like that all of the time.
But I am ready to be done.

So I was going dairy-free for almost a week
and then last Wednesday
I had some whipped cream (oops...I meant Cream Cheese) on some sourdough bread.
Yummy!
Yeah, I paid for that for 3 days.
I haven't had any since and I haven't taken
any of the histamine blockers since Friday.
I have 3 hives on my left wrist and four or five spots on each leg....
that is a huge improvement.
I will be shocked if it is not milk!

I am waiting...as I type :) for a phone call from the allergist,
whom I hope has some results for me.
Even still the results may still not show milk allergy
and that a food elimination with be the only way to know for sure.
I am pretty darn sure it is milk.
One good thing is that this will be a great diet for me.
No pizza, no chocolate (aahh), no sour cream and no fast food.... I have lost 3 pounds already.
The Hives, swelling and coughing that I get as the reaction will keep me on this diet.:)

I called the Metabolic Research Center diet place in
Fort Smith because I still have some maintenance time til October.
I started it in October and I was doing pretty good.
Almost down 20 pounds when the hives broke out on Christmas Eve.
I went in to the office with a note from my Dr. office saying that I should stop.
Well they told me that they didn't think that
there was anything within my Diet that could cause these symptoms.
I stopped anyway.
Well with my phone call in Friday I asked if they
had any food menus that were dairy-free.
He said that he would have to look for me.
I told him that I wouldn't be able to do
any of the Protein drinks if they had any milk products.
He then said
"Oh, well the protein drink is mainly made-up of whey protein from milk."
Well geesh!
That may explain a WHOLE freakin' lot!
They need to know, and I will probably call and let them know that in the futre, don't encourage someone to continue the program when this kind of problem arises.

So, I will up-date here when I get my up-date from them. Check back....hopefully soon. :)

Okay, just got the call.....the Dr. will be calling me tomorrow.
One more day.
Dang.

My Swollen Lips and My Obsession to Find it as a Milk Allergy

Ok.
I am so sorry to those of you who did not want to see these.....
photos of my swollen face.
This has been happening along with horrible hives all over
The lip swelling happens at least 3 days per week
since Christmas Eve 2008.
I am so ready to be done with it.

These are from Sunday night,
Monday morning
before my allergy appointment.
I have been trying to take photos
to keep track of how it goes and all.
So I had said on facebook that I would be
surprised if it was not a milk allergy.
The appointment went well and the Allergist explained a lot.
It was interesting
and they had me lay on my stomach
and the lady who was going to put the
allergens on came in and was surprised.
She said that she did not expect so many hives on my back.
So, she randomly put the stuff on
and left
and returned
15 minutes later
saying that there were not any reactions
to the allergens that she put on me.
Not allergic to milk...
she said.
And then wiped everything off.
Making me crazy!
So I went and placed my percriptions
and we went to Sonic
and I ate and then my lip swelled again.
WHAT?
Tuesday....there ain't not hives on me...so happy.
Wednesday...they were slowly returning...
only not as badly.
But they were back!
So the last few days I have been sticking
my forearms with a needle....
one without milk
and an other spot
I dab milk
on my arm
and then stick my arm through the dab of milk.
It comes up each time with hives
on the milk one
and it takes longer than
15 minutes.
HELLO!
Making a phone call tomorrow.

Even if I just went in
and they stab me
and I wait in the lobby for an hour.
Geesh.

Here is Jane, conquering the heights.

that is pretty freakin' high up.

In this photo you can see the entrance to this monster Jolly Jump.
You crawl in the hole there shown at the bottom left and climb up in the center
(you can see it in the video, I get a shot of it from the top looking down).
Then once you are at the top
you can go to either the left or right to go down a slide.
WOOHOO.

We went to Jump Zone last night for their Family Night. When we got there, there were a few people there for a birthday party. Then they left and we were the only ones there for about 45 minutes. During that time Chip told me to try the huge slide Jolly Jump. I did and then I wanted to do it again doing video. At the beginning of the video it is dark for a while. That is while I am climbing up the very tight, very dark belly of the beast. I would not have done this if there had been anyone else there. It was fun.

This is about 5 miles from home between Conway and Mayflower.
So pretty!
This is a public dock for people to fish from.
It was so quiet and peaceful.
It was as if no one was around...
but you know that there was by the smoke coming out if a chimney near by.

Our Move to Mayflower in a Mayflower Truck

Well, here we are in our new place in Mayflower, Arkansas.
A very small town....
I think we doubled the the population when we moved in.
Well, not really, of course.
There is 1,631 people....that is what is says on the population sign as you drive into town.

The house we are renting is owned by the city and is behind City Hall.
Next to City Hall is the Fire Dept.
and then the Library
and then the Post office.
We are also very close to a little park
(I think the only one in town)
and then the Elementary School is right by the park.
We can see the playground equipment for the park from our house.
I will have to do a little video so you can get a better idea of what it is like.

We are enjoying it.
I still have to get to a MOPs (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group and make some friends.

Jane is having a ball with all of this room to play inside and out.
On Saturday, Chip said that Jane told him that her body hurt
and was tired from all of the playing.
If you know Jane,
then you can see how that is amazing
because she plays hard all of the time,
so she is playing even harder now.

The truck driver took this picture....not so good.
Oh well.
During the move, I wish I had taken more photos and everything.
It was hard.
I have been so sleepy the last month while taking the antihistamine medicine for my hives (driving me crazy) that I have had for 3 months and 1 day.
I tell ya though.... it feels more like 9 months.
I have found a Dr. and I have an appt. set for next Tuesday.
And if he doesn't do anything or take time to listen
and find out the problem, then I will go some where else.
And I will let him know that that is my plan.
I can't sit and wait for nothing....I did that already.

Didn't work out so well.

Anyway....so there is my up-date.
I will get a video done of the yard and all soon and post it.

Stroller Skating

Last night we went with some friends to the
Local Skating Rink for Christian Family Night.
It was fun!
As we paid,
I asked if I could take the stroller
out on the floor with me.
He said yes, being that it is family night
and not just a bunch of crazy teens
that it would be okay.
So we went and got our skates
and met up with our friends
and made a few adjustments to our skates
...we were rollin'....
v.e.r.y. s.l.o.w.

We got a lot of comments about the stroller
...how fun...he's got it easy...good idea!....I should have done that....
I would just think to myself....
"I am just using it to keep myself from falling on my butt!"

It was fun...we will be going back next week.

A Few Pixie Stix Ha Ha I'm a DORK!

Yesterday Jane enjoyed some of her Valentine's Day
candy from Pre-School.
She shared some with me....
the others, I just swiped.
She brought in 2 pixie stix
and said she wanted some water to put them in.
I told her that they don't go in water,
that they are pixie stix
and it is a powder that goes on your tongue.
She stopped and looked them
and very quietly she said
"Pixie Stix....will it make me fly?"
I say sadly
"No sweetheart they won't make you fly."

Oh the disappointment.

Then today we were getting ready
to do some watercolor painting for the
Artist Trading Card
mailing she gets to do (more on that later),
and she wanted to do it "Now! Come on!"
"Just a few minutes" I say.
Then she drops her head back and says
"I don't know how to count to 'a few'!"

It was so funny...she got mad when I giggled at her.

I can't help that she's cute.

You could imagine my confusion when I found it there this morning.
Here is what led to my finding it.
I slept on the floor (insane) in the livingroom with Jane last night.
The TV was on and the news was on.
They were announcing the Mug in the Morning photo.
It was one of some doves cuddled together to keep warm in the snow.
Well, 2 days ago I sent in a photo (I remember)

I wondered it if it was on the slide show on the website, so I went to look for it.
Well, I didn't find that one, but I did find the one of Jane.

I do not remember sending it in.
And what a bummer.
I missed out seeing it on the morning news when they announced it.
And the mug would have been great
for the cup of coffee
that I don't have
every morning.

I realize that sometimes my brain doesn't work.

Some Sweetness From my Sweety

My dear little Jane! She is such a sweet~heart.
She makes me laugh.
She is smart and very curious, always asking questions.

Sometimes though,
she is mischievous.

So here are some things that have happened recently with Jane.

A few nights ago we were all in the Razor-Wagon
(that's our car...
we have found here
that you can put
Razor or Hog
or anything having to do with a
ugly mad pig
on anything and it makes it cool)
(and the car...
oh I mean the Razor-Wagon
has a Hog Tail sticking out of the hatch near the rear bumper)
ANYWAY!
We were driving along
and Charlie lets out a horrible cry,
the hurt cry.
I ask Jane what had happened
and she does not answer.
She has her hands over her mouth.
I keep asking and all.
Finally she comes clean.
She bit Charlie's finger
(shouldn't it be the other way around..."Charlie Bit Me!")

She felt bad.
That night she crawled into bed by me.
I had just given Charlie a bottle
and I was rolled into a ball at the foot of the bed
when she sat up and smiled
(still asleep)
and said so sweet
"Jesus is blessing me"
and laid back down.
So sweet!
In the morning I asked her what she dreamed about
and she said that she told Jesus sorry
for biting Charlie and he forgives her.
She has been learning about forgiveness lately.
So sweet.

Here is another little story.

On Saturday Chip was gone with the Boy Scouts
on a camp out
(lucky them!)
and he was do home around 4pm.
I totally rearranged the house,
well the bedrooms.
Usually I'll just move things within the room....not this time.
And I love it this way.
Our "old" room works way better
with two small beds than the other room did.
Again, ANYWAY!
So I am working on the house...the process was ugly.
It looked like the rooms and closets barfed.
Everything.Everywhere.
So I hear Charlie crying again
and I go to check-up on whats goin' down.
YEAH.....
Charlie,
he has one of the
Kniffty Knitter
looms
(the red....smaller one)
around his neck.
It is hard plastic and not tight around his neck
but it is tight around his head
and I can't get the dang thing off.
Oh the joys!

I snap a picture of this one:Notice the sippy cup to keep him from hysteria.
Well it worked the thing came off right after I snapped the photo.
Thank goodness!
Well, I told Jane
"Don't ever put this around brother's neck again.
I was worried I was going to have to call the Fire Dept. to come and cut it off."
And Jane says
"Come and CUT his NECK OFF?!??!"
I laughed
and then called my
Dad to tell him about it.

Oh! On the way home from picking Chip up, he says,
"How did it go at home, did you ave a good day?"
and I smiled and snickered.
Then he said,
"What?"
"Did you rearrange the furniture and paint your toenails?"
He knows me all too well!
I guess I'm a little mischievous myself.

Okay, so it has been super cold the last few days.
Ice everywhere!
So we are at the car
in the Wal-Mart parking lot
(where else?)
and I am getting Charlie to stick him in his carseat,
right?
I look up to check on Jane.
She is at the shopping cart corral
(yes, it is called a corral here...I always thought that horses lived in corrals, not shopping carts).
Now try and picture this and guess why I had a flash of instant PANIC.
She is there,
her head topped with a beanie,
eyes wide open,
mouth wide open
and her freakishly long tongue
up against the frozen pole!
And she doesn't move
when I "N N N N, JANE NO!"
Blank.Stare.
"Dag-nab-it"
I am thinking!
"What Mom?"
she says so confused...with her tongue in her mouth.
WHEW!
I thought I was going to have to call Squad 2.
Nope,
just need to put
"The Christmas Story"
at the top of our
Netflix queue.

Dandelions

Kids

When I look at a patch of dandelions,
I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard.
My kids see flowers for Mom and
blowing white fluff you can wish on.

When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me,
I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away.
My kids see someone smiling at them and
they smile back.

When I hear music I love, I know I can't carry a tune
and don't have much rhythm so I sit self consciously and listen.
My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words.
If they don't know them, they make up their own.

When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it.
I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk.
My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it,
until they fall to the ground laughing.

When I pray I say thee and thou and grant me this,
give me that. My kids say, "Hi God!!! Thanks for my
toys and my friends. Please keep the bad dreams away
tonight. Sorry, I don't want to go to Heaven yet. I
would miss my Mommy and Daddy."

When I see a mud puddle I step around it.
I see muddy shoes and clothes and dirty carpets.
My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross
and worms to play with.

I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from?

It is so hard when my babies are sick. It scares me.....what the heck do I do....aaccckkk! When they are awake so am I. When they are asleep....I am not. I am checking on them....are they breathing..?ok....are they sleeping in barf...? no, ok.

Oy Vey, I say.

So you all know Jane is very....active. Well, when she does not feel well, you can tell. Honestly, I would be completely happy with her at her craziest then with her sick and lethargic.
Breaks my heart!

So I am sure lots of you talk to inadament objects. Right? We used to with our Oldsmobile (under)Achivea. It was a piece of "tin" (hee hee). We called it The Ca-Car. I think it hated us!
We love our Razorwagon....our Focus.
It is a great car....it loves us.

So, my inadament object today...the turle-neck I bought last night. I have not talked to it, but I do believe that if it could speak, it would be saying:

"Why, oh why did you buy me?
I have been such a good turtle-neck.
I never caused any problems.
Why would you punish me this way?
There were so many others there,
you just had to come over
and grab me from the bottom of the pile.
I have been in your home for 13 hours
and already I have been pulled from my sleep,
then slept in!

And you thought baby wipes would take care of that?!

Then I got barfed on!

Keepin'Em Full!

So last week a Beauty College in town did a
Breast Cancer Awareness
thing called
"Keepin'em Full"

They asked for donations of Bras and $5.
I thought it was a fun idea and
grabbed a nursing bra and
went down there on Friday.

On Monday they had the Bra Raising Ceremony
(I missed that)
but I thought I would snap a few photos of the
bras swaying in the wind.

After my donation I drove through the parking lot and snapped a few photos.
